Armory Week: Pulse New York Going Steady
by Jacquelyn Lewis
At New York’s Magnan Projects, the gallery’s Richard Stewart waved his arm across a wall full of Duke Riley works on paper and some of the artist’s mosaic tile pieces from the multimedia series East River Incognita 1. “These will all be gone by the end of the day,” Stewart said, adding that a collector was already “this close” to taking home the largest of the works, Under the Cover of Darkness, created in ink on architectural paper and listed at $26,500."
Alexandre Arrechea’s watercolor Secret had already sold for $4,200, along with one of Amelia Biewald’s darkly exotic bleach-on-velvet works at roughly $5,000 each. (at left).
